R. McGhee & Associates (RMc), is a Washington, DC based Certified Business Enterprise (CBE) firm providing a full range of architectural services. Our 10 person firm consists of a talented, diverse group of highly motivated design professionals with experience in successfully completing residential, commercial and institutional facilities. As a firm, we focus on executing projects with sustainable design as a key element of our design process. Every staff member is, or has, worked on a one or more projects scheduled to be LEED Certified. Forty percent of the firm professionals are LEED accredited. We also take particular pride in our experience and success with the alteration, restoration and adaptive reuse of existing buildings.

We have concentrated on developing specialized techniques to bring unique and difficult projects to fruition including building consensus and support with neighborhoods, community groups, and regulatory bodies to achieve the client goals. Our firm utilizes twenty-five years of experience working with local and federal agencies to design new buildings, obtain approvals for master plans, restore and develop historic properties and redevelop neighborhoods.

Our areas of focus include significant experience with project programming, sustainable design for new and existing buildings, historic preservation, adaptive reuse, interior and urban design. RMc has developed close relationships with a strong team of consultant professionals that ably support and complement our technical and design capabilities in these core areas.
