Daweit’s experience includes residential, recreational, educational and institutional architecture. He began his journey at R. McGhee and Associates in 2015 and has since gained valuable experience working with several other firms. As a Project Manager for a women- and Black-owned construction firm, he led multiple government projects for the Pentagon and GSA. He also worked on healthcare and recreational projects, including the Baltimore Ravens Training Facility.
While at Howard University, he revived the AIAS chapter and launched a student store, helping fund trips to AIAS conferences in Chicago and New Jersey. The first in his class to compete and place in the top three for the Solar Decathlon. His thesis focused on mending the rift of cultural differences between the Ethiopian Diaspora and “Indigenous" Ethiopians. Daweit enjoys sketching, building models, and carpentry while working on becoming a registered architect in the upcoming year.
