Savita is an architectural designer at R. McGhee & Associates, where she blends her passion for design with her expertise in Building Information Modeling (BIM) and architectural technology. She first joined the firm as a summer intern in 2018 and transitioned to a full-time role in 2021. Born in Mumbai, India, Savita moved to the United States in 2006. She began her academic journey with an undergraduate degree in commerce and accounting experience in India. However, her curiosity for design led her to explore creative disciplines, including a work-exchange program at Greenwich House Pottery in New York. She later sharpened her technical skills by earning an associate degree in Architectural Technology and Fine Arts from Montgomery College in Maryland.
Savita pursued her passion for architecture by completing a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, in 2020. She is currently expanding her expertise through advanced certifications and licensure in architecture and BIM management. At R. McGhee & Associates, she focuses on institutional architectural design and historic preservation, bringing innovative solutions to life through technology and creative problem-solving.
